Wheeling Park High School’s Queen will be soon be crowned in the Palace on the Hill.
The Wheeling Park Queen of Queens Pageant will take place at 7 p.m. on Feb. 5 at in the Phyllis A. Beneke Theater. Tickets are $5 and are available for purchase at the school’s main office until the day of the show. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the performance. Ten Patriot senior girls will be competing for the title of Wheeling Park High School Queen.
The pageant consists of three categories. Contestants will be judged on how they perform in the interview portion (15 percent), the talent segment (60 percent) and poise & presentation (25 percent). The interviews will take place prior to the show, and the contestants will have the opportunity to meet each judge individually. The show will open with the talent portion of the contest.
This year’s show will feature a wide variety of talents including singing, dancing, musical performances on the violin and marimba and baton twirling. The evening will close with the naming of Miss Congeniality voted on by the contestants, 2nd runner-up, 1st runner-up and the crowning of the Queen.
The Wheeling Park High School Queen will go on to represent Wheeling Park High School in the OVAC Queen of Queens on July 23rd. The Wheeling Park Queen of Queens is under the direction of Ms. Christie Curley.
